CV and contact

After a career in production and management with the BBC, I am now a full-time writer, researcher and photographer

I have six books in print which combine my practical interest in photography with my academic background in local history.  My BA degree was in Psychology (University of Durham) and my MA degree is in English Local History (University of Nottingham)  

I have been commissioned by Alan Sutton's Amberley Publishing to produce a further four books during 2012, and there are other projects in the pipeline 

During 2011 I provided production and location research support for Michael Wood's next major series titled Great British Story: A People's History, due to be screened in 2012. Produced by Mayavision International, it follows on from the acclaimed 2010 Story of England series for BBC4 and BBC2.  I organised the 'Kibworth Dig' which formed a central linking concept for Story of England

I am a skilled photographer with my own studio lighting equipment.  I am available for any form of research or photographic work at any time, and I am usually able to cover urgent short-term assignments and will meet all deadlines.  I have wide-ranging contacts in the broadcasting and print media, locally and nationally, with experience of production techniques, technical operation, health and safety and the law with regard to journalists and the media

I am also the Honorary Secretary of the Leicestershire Archaeological and Historical Society, and edit their newsletter
